KANSAS CITY - University of Arkansas - Fort Smith Men's Basketball guard Brandon Scott was named the MIAA Men's Basketball Athlete of the Week, the Association announced Monday.

Scott averaged 24.0 points and 4.5 rebounds while shooting 47.6 percent (10-for-21) from the three-point range to lead the No. 11-ranked Lions to a pair of MIAA wins over Pittsburg State and Missouri Southern and match their best start in their NCAA Division II era at 13-0.

In the 72-58 win over the Gorillas on Thursday (Jan. 1), Scott led the Lions with 15 points, five rebounds and a steal. He then scored a career-high 33 points with eight threes in the 90-83 win over Missouri Southern on Saturday (Jan. 3). Scott's eight threes tied for the second most in a single game in program history. He also added five boards, a steal and a block against the Lions.
