EDMOND, Okla. – University of Arkansas – Fort Smith Baseball dropped game two at Central Oklahoma Saturday, falling 8-4 to the Bronchos in MIAA action.
The Lions fell behind 5-0 before outfielder Cooper White hit a sacrifice fly to score the first run in the third.
Down 7-1 in the seventh, the Lions scratched across a run on an error and then scored two in the eighth when infielder Jackson Down tripled in a run and scored on a groundout to pull within 7-4. UCO then tallied a run in the ninth to complete the scoring.
White had two of the Lions' seven hits on the afternoon and scored a run, as well.
Austin Mitchell went 6.2 innings on the mound, allowing seven runs on seven hits with six strikeouts. Tanner Callahan and Matthew Winters each pitched an inning in relief.
Game three of the series is set for 1 p.m. Sunday.
