FORT SMITH, Ark. - University of Arkansas - Fort Smith Baseball scored nine runs in the seventh but dropped a 19-10 decision to Washburn at Crowder Field in the series finale Sunday.
The Ichabods led by double digits before the Lions' reserves extended the game in the seventh, as pinch hitter Jackson Down started the scoring in the frame with a two-run homer while Dan Taylor hit an opposite field grand slam.
Cody Walkingstick collected his first career hit and RBI with a double while the Lions had a combined seven walks and hit by pitches in the inning.
Taylor and Down each finished 2-for-2 at the plate while Noah Davis, Nico Patrick and Ryan Riggs all had two hits, as well. Cooper White singled in a run in the fourth inning and collected four walks.
Noah Brown threw three innings in relief, allowing just one run.
The Lions are back at home Tuesday at 4 p.m. against Northeastern State.
