FORT SMITH, Ark. – Chase Pair earned his third consecutive win as he tossed a complete game as University of Arkansas - Fort Smith defeated Northeastern State, 10-2, Tuesday at Crowder Field.
Pair held the RiverHawks scoreless through the first six frames and tossed his second complete game in three tries, both against the RiverHawks. He allowed just two runs on six hits while striking out two.
Outfielder Sammy Seeger provided the spark on offense, going 3-for-4 with four runs and an RBI from the leadoff spot. He led off the game with a single as the Lions scored three times in the opening frame, with the big hit a two-run double from outfielder JJ Young.
The Lions added to their lead in the second with an RBI groundout by outfielder Cooper White, and then put up another three-run inning in the fourth.
Seeger started the scoring with an RBI single followed by a two-run double by infielder Nico Patrick. Eli Gilreath put the Lions up 8-0 in the fifth with a solo blast to left center.
White and Patrick concluded the scoring for the Lions with RBI singles in the sixth and eighth innings, respectively.
White finished 2-for-3 with two runs and two driven in while Patrick was 2-for-4 with three RBIs. Young went 2-for-5 at the plate.
The Lions will next be in action this weekend against Central Oklahoma.
