FORT SMITH, Ark. – Infielder Dakota Peters homered for the second straight game but University of Arkansas - Fort Smith Baseball fell 11-2 to Washburn Saturday at Crowder Field.
The Ichabods scored three runs each in the second and third innings as the Lions struck out 13 times in the loss.
Outfielder Cooper White drove in a run with an RBI single in the third with Peters hitting a solo blast in the eighth. Peters and catcher Ryan Riggs each had two hits on the afternoon.
Austin Mitchell started on the mound, allowing nine runs over six innings while Matthew Winters allowed two runs on three hits in three innings of relief.
The series concludes with a 1 p.m. first pitch Sunday.
