Lions to welcome No. 1 Washburn to Stubblefield Center Thursday

FORT SMITH, Ark. - University of Arkansas - Fort Smith Men's Basketball returns home this week to take on the No. 1 team in the country as Washburn visits the Stubblefield Center Thursday night.

The Lions will face the top-ranked Ichabods at 7:30 p.m. Thursday before facing Central Missouri on Saturday at 3 p.m. for Homecoming. Both games will be streamed on the MIAA Network and broadcast on Fox Sports Radio 103.5. Live stats will be available at uafortsmithlions.com.

NOTES:

LAST WEEK: UAFS split a pair of road games last week, defeating Nebraska-Kearney before dropping a defensive battle at Fort Hays State.

GETTING STOPS: The Lions have held their opponent under 60 points in three of their last four games.

CAMPBELL'S SOUP: Guard Kobe Campbell has scored in double figures in three of six games since his return to the lineup.

FROM DISTANCE: Guard Roland McCoy is averaging 2.4 made threes per game and shooting 39.2 percent from beyond the arc during conference play.

RECORD WATCH: Guard Terrell Williams Jr. has scored 958 points in his collegiate career.

SCOUTING WU: The top-ranked Ichabods are 22-0, 13-0 MIAA and lead the league in scoring at 86.7 point per game and scoring margin at 22.5. Guard Brayden Shorter paces the offense with 16.4 points per game while guard Jack Bachelor leads the league with a 3.5 assist/turnover ratio. 

SCOUTING UCM: The Mules are 11, 6-7 MIAA with a 3-4 mark away from home. UCM is last in the league in assists at just 10.8 per game, as the Mules average a league-low 62.7 points per game. Guard DeAirius Barker is the lone Mule in double figures at 12.0 points per game.

THE SERIES: This will be the second meeting ever with Washburn, with the Ichabods winning the lone matchup in 2011. UAFS trails the series with Central Missouri, 2-1.
