Men's Basketball looks to continue strong start in return to MIAA play

FORT SMITH, Ark. – No. 11 University of Arkansas - Fort Smith Men's Basketball will look to keep the momentum from the first half of the season as the Lions are set to resume MIAA play this week versus Pittsburg State and Missouri Southern at the Stubblefield Center.

The Lions are set to take on Pitt State at 3:30 p.m. Thursday followed by taking on Missouri Southern at 3:30 p.m. Saturday.

Both games will be streamed on the MIAA Network and broadcast on Fox Sports Radio 103.5. Live stats will be available at uafortsmithlions.com.

NOTES:

LAST WEEK: UAFS capped off its final week of 2025 by going 3-0, winning two games in San Antonio over Midwestern State and UT Permian Basin to go with a road win at Drury.

BEST SINCE: The Lions 11-0 start is the best since the 2017-18 season, when they started 13-0.

TOP 25: UAFS is ranked No. 11 in the latest NABC Top 25 and are one of six remaining unbeaten teams in NCAA II.

FROM THE FIELD: The Lions rank second nationally in field goal percentage defense at 36.7 percent and lead the country in three-point percentage defense at 23.0 percent.

CRASH THE GLASS: UAFS is fourth nationally and leads the MIAA with 44.8 rebounds per game.

LEAGUE LEADERS: Guard Christian Moore is third in the MIAA with a 2.53 assist/turnover ratio and forward Kameron Johnson ranks third with 7.6 rebounds per game.

SCOUTING PSU: The Gorillas are 8-4, 2-0 MIAA but have yet to play a true road game this season. PSU is second in the MIAA in turnover margin at 4.92 and is led by guard Connor Rogers at 21.4 points per game.

SCOUTING MSSU: The Lions are 7-5, 1-2 MIAA with six of their seven wins at home. MSSU is powered by league-leading scorer Jaden Taylor, as the Lions pace the MIAA with 92.8 points per game.

THE SERIES: UAFS is 1-4 all-time against Pittsburg State and 3-6 against Missouri Southern.
