LAREDO, Texas - University of Arkansas - Fort Smith Baseball was unable to carry over the momentum from Friday's big win as the Lions were swept in a doubleheader at Texas A&M International Saturday.
The Lions dropped game one, 1-0, before falling 12-7 in game two. The series finale is set for 1 p.m. Sunday.

The Dustdevils scratched across a run in the bottom of the sixth as the Lions were held to two hits in game one of the doubleheader.
Outfielder Blayse Quarnstrom doubled to lead off the sixth inning, but a flyout and lineout double play erased the threat.
Brayden Ross pitched all six innings for the Lions, surrendering the lone run on five hits with six punchouts.

UAFS scored four times in the bottom of the first when outfielder Michael Brinton cleared the bases with a triple and then scored on a sacrifice fly, but the Lions were then held scoreless until the seventh.
Meanwhile, the Dustdevils answered with five runs in the bottom half of the first and then added three more in the second. They added single runs in the third and fourth and two more in the sixth.
The Lions scored three times in the seventh on RBIs from Noah Davis, Nico Patrick and Tanner Callahan.
