FORT SMITH, Ark. - University of Arkansas - Fort Smith Men's Basketball heads on the road this week looking for the season sweep at Texas A&M International and Texas A&M-Kingsville.
The Lions will take on the Dustdevils at 8Â p.m. Thursday followed by the Javelinas at 3 p.m. Saturday. Both games will be streamed on the Lone Star Conference Digital Network with live stats available at uafortsmithlions.com.
NOTES:
LAST WEEK: The Lions dropped a pair of games at home, falling to UT Tyler and No. 5 Dallas Baptist at the Stubblefield Center.
FIRST POINTS: Guard Kevin Hamilton scored the first seven points of his collegiate career against DBU to go with season-highs of three rebounds and three assists.
RECORD WATCH: Guard Payton Brown is sixth with 1,128 career points and fifth with 154 made threes. Guard Cameron Bush is eighth with 178 assists and sixth with 88 steals.
SCOUTING TAMIU: The Dustdevils have the top scoring defense in the LSC at 67.5 points per game and are 11-10, 7-8 LSC after having their three-game win streak snapped last weekend. Guard Mathew Okoye leads TAMIU with 14.2 points per game.
SCOUTING TAMUK: The Javelinas are 5-15, 3-12 LSC after having lost three games in a row. TAMUK ranks last in the league in field goal-percentage at 40.8 percent and is led offensively by guard CJ Smith at 16.7 points per game.
THE SERIES: UAFS leads the series with TAMIU, 17-10, and is 2-5 all-time against TAMUK.
THE FIRST TIME: UAFS defeated both Texas A&M-Kingsville, 85-63, and Texas A&M International, 57-51, at the Stubblefield Center earlier this season.
