FORT SMITH, Ark. - University of Arkansas - Fort Smith Men's Basketball downed University of the Ozarks, 86-48, Tuesday at the Stubblefield Center in the annual Toy Toss game.
The Lions shot 60.7 percent in the opening half as they built a 49-18 lead at the break. Guard Elijah Wilson opened the scoring for the Lions on a layup with an assist from guard VJ Reeves with 17:40 left to bring the barrage of toys onto the court.
Four Lions scored in double figures, led by Reeves with 13 points on 5-of-8 shooting. Guard Tyler Frederick and forward D'Ante Bell each tallied 12 points while guard Jarren McAllister added 10 points and eight rebounds.
Forward Isaiah Lewis scored eight points and pulled down eight boards.
UAFS outscored the Eagles, 42-18, in the paint and scored 18 points off 20 Eagle turnovers.
The game collected over 1,000 toys to be donated to local charities.
Up next for the Lions is another matchup against Harding, as they travel to Searcy, Arkansas, Sunday for a 2 p.m. tip.
