SEARCY, Ark. - University of Arkansas - Fort Smith Men's Basketball attempted a furious second-half comeback but came up short, 82-78, Sunday in a rematch at Harding.

The Lions were down, 75-63, with 3:56 left and trimmed the lead to two at 75-73 with 1:25 left on a layup by guard Terrell Williams Jr.

Three possessions later, the Lions got a layup by forward Isaiah Lewis and then forced a turnover on the ensuing inbounds pass to have a chance to tie the game. However, a turnover gave the ball back to the Bisons.

Guard Elijah Wilson trimmed the deficit back to two with a three with 10 seconds left, but the Bisons closed out the game with a pair of free throws.

UAFS opened the game on an 8-0 run but was unable to hold onto the lead, as the Bisons broke a 25-25 tie later in the half with an extended 18-7 run as Harding led, 43-34, at the break.

Four Lions scored in double figures, led by Wilson with 18 points. Lewis chipped in with 16 points while guard VJ Reeves added 14 points. Guard Tommie Williams finished with 10 points.

Forward D'Ante Bell pulled down a game-high 11 rebounds.

UAFS forced 20 turnovers, holding a 25-19 edge in points off turnovers.

UAFS returns home Friday to host Southern Nazarene at 5:30 p.m. at the Stubblefield Center.
