WICHITA FALLS, Texas – The University of Arkansas – Fort Smith Tennis teams completed their regular seasons Saturday at Midwestern State. The Mustangs went on to win both matches, 5-2 in the women's match and 6-1 in the men's match.
Petra Csizmadia picked up a single's win at No. 2 in straight sets, 6-4, 6-3, while Arianna De Bernardo tallied a three-set win, 6-3, 0-6, 6-3. Joanna Potet battled for three sets, as well, but came up short, 5-7, 6-3, 2-6.
On the men's side, the Lions swept doubles to earn the point, but the Mustangs flipped the script in singles action, winning all six matches. Three of the matches went the distance.
Anis Ramchane and Killian Darneaux won 6-4 at No. 1, Juan Rosello and Eduardo Bribiesca won 6-4 at No. 2 and Juan Patino and Nicolas Retamales won 6-3 at No. 3.
Men's tennis advances to the Lone Star Conference Tournament at the No. 5 seed where it will face No. 4 seed Lubbock Christian at 8:30 a.m. Thursday at the Arlington Tennis Center in Arlington, Texas.
