SAN ANGELO, Texas – A pair of big innings by Angelo State led the Rams to a 15-2 win over University of Arkansas – Fort Smith Baseball Friday in the opener of a four-game series at Foster Field at 1st Community Credit Union Stadium.
The Lions took advantage of an error for a 1-0 lead in the top of the first, but the Rams responded with six runs in the second and seven in the third.
UAFS tallied a run in the third on an RBI single by infielder Dan Taylor.
Starter Luke Davenport took the loss after allowing seven runs on five hits and two walks in two innings.
The series continues Saturday with a doubleheader beginning at 4 p.m.
