Men's Basketball to welcome Mustangs, Greyhounds to Stubblefield Center

FORT SMITH, Ark. – University of Arkansas – Fort Smith Men's Basketball returns to the Stubblefield Center this week to begin its final homestand of the regular season, hosting Western New Mexico and Eastern New Mexico.

The Lions will face the Mustangs at 7:30 p.m. Thursday and the Greyhounds and 3 p.m. Saturday for Homecoming. Both games will be streamed on the Lone Star Conference Digital Network and broadcast on Fox Sports Radio FM 103.5. Live stats will be available at uafslions.com.

NOTES:

LAST WEEK: UAFS suffered a pair of road defeats last week at St. Edward's and St. Mary's and will be looking to finish the regular season at home on a high note.  

EFFICIENCY: The Lions shot over 70 percent in the second half against St. Mary's, shooting 73.7 percent. UAFS finished above 50.0 percent for the game for the eighth time this season at 55.0 percent.

GETTING HIS SHOT: Guard Cameron Bush has scored in double figures in each of the last six games, giving him 15 such games for the season.

AROUND THE LEAGUE: Guard Payton Brown leads the league in scoring at 20.1 points per game and is tied for first in made threes at 2.6 per contest. Guard Evan Anderson is second in assist/turnover ratio at 2.4.

RECORD WATCH: Anderson ranks second in assists with 309 and is tied for ninth in steals with 71. He ranks seventh with 136 made threes. Brown ranks eighth with 104 made threes and is ninth in scoring with 793 career points.

SCOUTING WNMU: The Mustangs had their three-game win streak snapped in their last outing, and enter Thursday 14-10, 8-10 LSC. No player averages double figures for WNMU, led by guard Tony Avalos at 9.8 points per game.

SCOUTING ENMU: The Greyhounds are 15-9, 10-8 LSC but have only won two games away from home. Forward Jahcoree Ealy leads ENMU with 13.3 points per game while forward Errol White averages a near double-double with 11.0 points and 9.0 rebounds. Eastern leads the LSC in opponent field goal percentage at 41.5 percent and rebounding at 37.3 boards per game.

THE SERIES: UAFS is 1-1 versus Western New Mexico and 0-2 against Eastern New Mexico.
