BETHANY, Okla. – Guard Payton Brown scored 21 points but University of Arkansas – Fort Smith Men's Basketball was unable to win its final tuneup before conference play, falling 92-81 Saturday at Southern Nazarene.
Brown led three Lions in double figures, as guard Lian Ramiro scored 13 points and forward Ryan Maxwell tallied 11 points. Ramiro was 7-for-9 from the free throw line.
UAFS tied the game at 14-14 midway through the first half, but it was all Crimson Storm the rest of the way.
Each team shot 50.0 percent from the floor but the Crimson Storm tallied an 11-8 edge in second chance points and 23-12 advantage in points off turnovers. The Lions had 22 fastbreak points.
The Lions return to the Stubblefield Center November 30 top begin Lone Star Conference play against West Texas A&M.
