DALLAS, Texas – University of Arkansas – Fort Smith Men's Basketball was held to a season low in points in a 48-35 defeat to Dallas Baptist Saturday at the Burg Center.
A defensive battle, each team had a scoreless stretch of more than six minutes in the first half. DBU shot just 30.4 percent in the opening half but the Lions only mustered 17.9 percent. DBU took a 21-16 lead into the locker room.
The offensive struggles for the Lions carried over to the second half, as the Patriots led by as many as 19 with 8:31 left. UAFS had an 8-0 run late to cut the lead to 11 but had just 1:22 left on the clock.
Guard Cameron Bush was the only Lion in double figures with 14 points, with he and forward Jaxon Ingram each grabbing eight rebounds. Guards Evan Anderson and Payton Brown each had six points.
UAFS finished shooting 20.0 percent for the game and 9.1 percent from three. The Lions held the Patriots to zero second chance points while tallying six themselves.
The Lions return home Thursday to host Texas A&M International.
