MEMPHIS – Freshman Zoe Nesbitt paced University of Arkansas – Fort Smith Women's Cross Country in her first collegiate race Saturday night at the City Auto Memphis Twilight Classic.
Nesbitt finished 48th in the 5k event in 20:31.54. Quincy Efurd and Camille Lear finished back-to-back in 69th and 70th, respectively, with times of 21:29.39 and 21:33.53.
Fourth to cross the line for the Lady Lions was Jennifer Martinez in 77th in 22:09.66 while Shaddy Gonzalez finished in 80th in 22:18.53.
Saylor Vera and Megan Thompson rounded out the scoring for the Lions by placing in 92nd and 93rd, respectively, in 23:01.33 and 23:04.92.
UAFS placed 11th as a team with 274 points.
