JOPLIN, Mo. - University of Arkansas - Fort Smith Cross Country concluded its 2025 season Saturday by running in the NCAA II Central Regional at Tom Rutledge Cross Country Course.
The women finished the 6k event in 24th of 35 teams with 731 points with an average time of 24:12. The men placed 29th in the 10k race with 872 points with an average time of 35:38.
Rachel Malik led the Lion women with a personal best time of 23:21.2 to finish 115th while Madison Thurston followed behind in 123rd with a personal best of 23:29.1. The trend continued as Annabella Tedder had a personal best of 24:05.6 to finish 147th.
Rounding out the top five for the Lions were Cecilia Perez finishing in 24:41.8 and Michaela Kaelin crossing the line in 25:27.0. Brookelyn Davis and Karley Sharp also had personal bests of 25:48.9 and 26:21.2, respectively.
The men ran five personal bests, as well, led by Joaquin Alva with a 34:46.7 to finish 157th. Evan Smith finished close behind in 34:56.6 while Isaac Teague rounded out the top three in 35:44.1.
Adan Castillo was the fourth Lion to cross the line in 36:13.0, followed by Conner Valentine in 36:33.5 and Troy Ferguson in 37:04.6.
