Lions release 2022-23 Men's Basketball slate

FORT SMITH, Ark. – The 2022-23 University of Arkansas - Fort Smith Men's Basketball schedule has been released, with the Lions scheduled to play 28 regular season contests.

The 28-game slate will feature six nonconference games and 22 Lone Star Conference matchups. It also features the Lone Star/Rocky Mountain Challenge as well as a Thanksgiving Classic.

Tipoff is November 11 against Black Hills State in a neutral site game on the campus of Oklahoma Christian. The Yellow Jackets reached the Final Four in 2021-22. To finish the LSC/RMAC Challenge UAFS will face Metro State-Denver November 12.

UAFS will host its home opener November 17 against University of the Ozarks followed by a trip to Henderson State November 19.

The Lions welcome Harding and Ouachita Baptist to Gayle Kaundart Arena at the Stubblefield Center for the Thanksgiving Classic November 25-26 to wrap up nonconference action, with Oklahoma Christian participating as the fourth team. OC will play those teams on opposite days of UAFS in neutral site games.

Lone Star Conference play begins with one of the toughest road trips of the season December 1 & 3, with the Lions set to travel to West Texas A&M and Lubbock Christian, respectively. The first home conference game is December 8 versus Angelo State with UT Permian Basin visiting December 10. UAFS enters the holiday break with a matchup at Oklahoma Christian Dec. 19.

After the break, the Lions host Dallas Baptist and ring in the new year against UT Tyler. UAFS will also host St. Mary's, St. Edward's, Texas A&M International, Texas A&M-Kingsville, and close the regular season with three home games against Western New Mexico, Eastern New Mexico and Oklahoma Christian.

January 5 sees the Lions head back on the road for a trip to Texas A&M-Kingsville followed by a game at Texas A&M International. Two weeks later sees the Lions embark on a four-game road trip to Midwestern State, Cameron, UT Tyler and DBU. St. Edward's and St. Mary's are the two remaining road games in February.

Postseason play begins with the Lone Star Conference Championship March 2-5 in Frisco, Texas, with the NCAA II South Central Regional March 11-14.
