FORT SMITH, Ark. – Bianca Koen won a pair of matches Saturday against Texas A&M – Kingsville, but it wasn't enough as the Lions lost 6-1 to the Javelinas at the Fort Smith Athletic Club.
Koen teamed with Joanna Potet for a 7-6 (7-0) win at number one doubles, but TAMUK won at numbers two and three to take the doubles point. Camila Romero and Isabella Serrano battled to a 4-6 decision at number three.
Koen carried the doubles win over to singles, claiming a 7-5, 6-3 victory at number one for the lone point for the Lions. Romero won the first set, 6-1, at number six, but was unable to close out the win by falling in sets two and three, 6-7 and 6-10.
UAFS continues its four-match homestand next weekend by hosting Western New Mexico and UT Permian Basin.
