FORT SMITH, Ark. – University of Arkansas – Fort Smith Baseball dropped its penultimate game of the season Saturday, 13-3, to St. Mary's in eight innings at Crowder Field.

The Rattlers took a 7-0 lead after five innings, highlighted by a four-run fourth inning.

UAFS got a run back in the sixth on an RBI single by infielder Nolan Riley, but the Rattlers answered with another four-run inning in the top of the seventh.

Down to potentially their final two outs, the Lions pushed a run across on an RBI groundout from outfielder Kinner Brasher and outfielder Zach Slunder scored on a wild pitch.

However, the Rattlers scored twice in the top of the eighth. The Lions put a runner on in the bottom half but were unable to extend the game.

The Lions recorded 10 hits in the contest, two each from Riley, Brasher and infielder Noah Davis. Slunder scored two runs.

Logan Grant took the loss on the mound, allowing six runs on nine hits over 3.1 innings.

UAFS concludes the season Sunday at 1 p.m. with a Senior Day presentation prior to the game at 12:45.
