FORT SMITH, Ark. – University of Arkansas – Fort Smith Women's Tennis came up one-point shy in its home opener Saturday, falling 4-3 to Southwest Baptist at the Fort Smith Athletic Club.
After the Bearcats took the doubles point, Joanna Potet earned the first point of the day for the Lions with a 4-6, 7-6, 10-7 three-set win at number two singles. Also earning a three-set win was Jenny Zapien, who won with scores of 2-6, 6-4, 11-9.
Camila Romero claimed the final point for UAFS with a 6-3, 6-3 victory at number six.
UAFS will next travel to Harding University on February 26 in search of its first win of the year.
