FORT SMITH, Ark. - University of Arkansas - Fort Smith Women's Tennis swept the University of the Ozarks Tuesday, 7-0, at the Fort Smith Athletic Club to earn its first win of the 2022 season.
Bianca Koen and Joanna Potet won 6-2 at number one doubles, Petra Csizmadia and Chloe Ruppanner won 6-1 at number two and Camila Romero and Isabella Serrano teamed up at number three for a 6-1 win as the Lions earned the doubles point.
UAFS then dominated singles play by not dropping a set.
Potet claimed a 6-0, 6-1 win at number one with Csizmadia winning 6-1, 6-1 at number two. At number three, Ruppanner defeated her opponent, 6-1, 6-3.
Jenny Zapien earned the clean sweep with a 6-0, 6-0 win at number four, while Romero won 6-1, 6-0 at number five. Serrano closed out the match with a 6-0, 6-2 win at number six.
Next up for the Lions is a matchup against Weatherford College March 5 at 10 a.m. at the Fort Smith Athletic Club.
