Thanksgiving Classic on tap this week for Men's Basketball

FORT SMITH, Ark. - University of Arkansas - Fort Smith Men's Basketball will host the Thanksgiving Classic this weekend at Gayle Kaundart Arena at the Stubblefield Center, featuring Oklahoma Christian, Ouachita Baptist, Harding and UAFS.

Friday will see Oklahoma Christian square off with Ouachita Baptist at 4 p.m. followed by the Lions and Harding at 6 p.m. Harding and Oklahoma Christian will then play at 4 p.m. Saturday with UAFS and Ouachita Baptist closing out the weekend at 6 p.m.

All four games will be streamed on the Lone Star Conference Digital Network with both UAFS games being broadcast on Fox Sports Radio FM 103.5, as well. Live stats to all four games will be available at uafslions.com.

NOTES:

LAST WEEK: UAFS went 2-0 last week by picking up a 68-51 win over the University of the Ozarks and a 56-52 road win at Henderson State.

CAREER HIGH: Forward David Ekezie scored a career-high 16 points on 6-of-6 shooting in the win at Henderson State. He made the game-winning layup with 18 seconds left, as well.

DISHING IT OUT: After only six assists in the season opener, the Lions have had at least 13 assists in their last three games. Guard Evan Anderson is third in the LSC with 4.3 assists per game.

RECORD WATCH:  Anderson is seventh with 111 career made threes and ranks fifth in assists with 248.

SCOUTING HU: Harding is 4-0 to start the season and averaging 88.0 points per game. Forward Taylor Currie leads the Bisons with 23.5 and 8.8 rebounds per game.

SCOUTING OBU: The Tigers are 1-0 on the young season, as three of their first four contests have been exhibitions. Guard Tylar Haynes led the Tigers with 18 points and nine rebounds in the lone win as three players scored in double figures.

THE SERIES: UAFS is 1-1 against Harding and 2-1 against Ouachita Baptist. The Lions defeated the Bisons, 80-61, last season in Searcy.
