FORT SMITH, Ark. – University of Arkansas – Fort Smith Men's Basketball has released its 2021-22 schedule, which sees the Lions playing 28 contests this season.
Of the 28 games, 16 will be conference matchups with 12 nonconference games. Five of the nonconference games are against Lone Star Conference opponents.
The season tips off November 13-14 in Denver, Colorado, as the Lions take part in the Lone Star/Rocky Mountain Challenge. UAFS will face Black Hills State University on the 13th in a neutral site matchup before playing the hosts, Metropolitan State University of Denver on the 14th.
UAFS will then host six of its next seven games at the Stubblefield Center, beginning with the home opener November 18 against University of the Ozarks. Henderson State visits Fort Smith November 20 before the Lions hit the road for a single game at Harding University November 27.
The four remaining home games in the stretch will see the Lions face Southwestern Christian University, Dallas Baptist University, Ecclesia College and Midwestern State University. Nonconference play concludes with trips to UT Tyler and Texas A&M-Commerce save for a January 27 matchup at Oklahoma Christian.
LSC play gets started on New Year's Eve, as the Lions host West Texas A&M University followed by Cameron University January 2.
The Lions will alternate home and away weekends in conference action, traveling to Lubbock Christian University and Eastern New Mexico University in week two.
Remaining road LSC contests include trips to Texas A&M-Kingsville, Texas A&M International, St. Edward's University, St. Mary's University, Midwestern State University and Dallas Baptist University. The game at Dallas Baptist serves as the regular season finale February 26.
The home conference slate also features matchups against Oklahoma Christian, Western New Mexico, Texas A&M-Commerce, UT Tyler, Angelo State and the home finale February 19 versus Texas Permian Basin.
Lone Star Conference Tournament action begins March 1 at on-campus sites with the remainder of the tournament March 3-6 in Frisco, Texas. The South Central Regional is slated for March 12-15.
