SILVER CITY, N.M. – University of Arkansas – Fort Smith Women's Tennis earned its first Lone Star Conference win Friday with a 4-3 victory at Western New Mexico.
Bianca Koen and Camila Romero each went 2-0 on the day, winning at both doubles and singles.
Koen teamed with Milena Achlamov at number two doubles for a 6-4 win while Romero paired with Chloe Ruppanner at number three doubles for a 6-3 win and to secure the doubles point for the Lady Lions.
Koen then won in three sets, 6-1, 0-6, 6-3 at number one singles to give UAFS its second point. Romero had little trouble at number five, winning 6-4, 6-1.
Petra Csizmadia clinched the win with a 6-4, 3-6, 6-2 victory at number four singles.
Chloe Ruppanner also went three sets, but fell 1-6, 6-2, 2-6 at number three.
UAFS closes out the regular season Saturday at UT Permian Basin with a first serve of 10 a.m.
