UAFS baseball team has concluded the first homestand weekend of the year with a loss as the lions fell to the Patriots of UT Tyler by the score of 0-11. As a team Lions recorded five hits on 32 at-batts, led by Trent Powel with 3 hits and 0 strikeouts. The Lions are now 4-2 overall on the season as well as in conference play.

The game, which was threatening to be postponed due to inclement weather, was all about the Patriots. UT Tyler scored their first run in the first inning as Gochenour singled to the left field and drove Roach and never looked back.

The Lions tried their best effort to get back into the game but it was not enough against the powerful Patriots batting lineup which recorded 11 runs on 12 hits and had seven players with at least one run, led by Cade Watson who hit one homerun and one triple to drive four RBIs during the game. 

UAFS baseball will have a chance to bounce back during the upcoming road series against Tarleton State starting at 2 p.m. on Thursday in Stephensville, Texas. Live video broadcast and live stats will be available for this game.
