UAFS men's basketball team has recorded a huge win on the senior night as the Lions defeated A&M-Commerece on the way to the Lone Star Conference tournament by the score of 75-65. Lions led 38 minutes in this game and concluded it with a series of free throws by junior guard

Coach
Jim Boone was glowing with pride following the game, "I couldn't be more pleased with our grit tonight, again, we were not always very pretty, but we persevered through to outlast Commerce and find a way to win. Obviously, our ability to attack their Post players early in the game hurt them. At the same time, we were saddled with fouls early as well, and our bench gave us a tremendous lift.
Daryl McElrath's first half seven points and defensive effort was exactly what we needed. This was a huge Team win, I am very proud of this group for finding a way to get into post season play."
The Lions are now 13-15 overall on the season and 9-13 in conference play. With this win Lions have punched their ticket to Lone Star Conference tournament and their opponent will be announced as all the games are concluded.
