Lions Fall To Tarleton, Split The Weekend Series

UAFS baseball team has concluded the weekend series on the road with a loss as the Lions fell to Tarleton Texans by the score of 1-6. The Lions have thus split the weekend series against Tarleton (2-2), heading back home to the friendly confines of Crowder Field. 

As a team the Lions scored only one run on four hits in 29 at-bats. All runs in the game were scored in the seventh inning for both teams. Nolan Riley scored the sole run for the Lions in the seventh inning off Logan Easley's triple to the right field. 

Freshman pitcher Trevor Johnson pitched 5.1 innings for UAFS allowing three hits and no runs. UAFS pitching staff as a while allowed six runs off eight hits while Nico Sharp recorded his second loss of the season (2-3). 

UAFS baseball team will continue their season next week as the Lions host UT Permian Basin in another four game series starting on Friday at 2 p.m. at Crowder Field in Fort Smith, Ark. Both live stats and live video stream will be available
