The Lions responded in the fifth inning as Cash Balentine homered to the right field and driving Morgan Crenshaw and Nolan Riley in for three RBIs.

Following that UAFS gave up another two runs before Marcinkowski  started a complete comeback for the Lions as he homered to the right center and drove Caleb Grace in. After that Lions scored two more unearned runs (Balentine and Kalina) before Caleb Grace concluded the game with a grand-slam which put the Lions up by 11-9 which was enough to win the first game of the day.
