UAFS men's basketball team has lost the first of five consecutive conference games on the road as the Lions fell to Oklahoma Christian Eagles by the score of 61-69. The Lions were led by
Charles Botchway with 15 points two rebounds and three steals. The Lions are now 5-4 heading into the rest of their conference competition on the road.
Offensively, the Lions shot 40.7 percent from the field, 29.6 percent from the three point line and 62.5 from the free throw line. They were led in scoring by Botchway (15) and
Evan Anderson (11),
Chris Rollins (11). The Lions recorded 15 assists, led by
Matthew Wilson (6).
Defensively, UAFS allowed their opponents 43.5 percent shooting from the field, 57.9 percent from the three point line and 66.7 percent from the free throw line. Lions grabbed 28 rebounds, led by Rollins (8) and
Seth Hawley (6). UAFS also forced 17 turnovers as a team and recorded 12 steals, with Botchway, Wilson and Hawley recording three each..
UAFS men's basketball team will continue their conference road trip as the Lions take on Eastern New Mexico at 6:30 p.m. (CST) in Portales, N. M.
