UAFS men's basketball team remains undefeated this season (4-0) as the Lions defeated Texas A&M International by the score of 74-63 in the Lone Star Conference season-opener and first-ever game for the Lions in the new conference. The Lions are now 8-7 in all-time series against the Dustdevils.
Junior guard
Matthew Wilson led all scorers with his new career high 34 points on 11-20 shooting from the field, 8-13 from beyond the arc and 4-4 from the free throw line.
Brian Halums added another 12 points despite being in a foul trouble for the biggest part of the game. As a team, the Lions have shot 50 percent from the field (23-46), 54 percent from the three point line (13-24) and 68.2 percent from the free throw line (15-22) on 18 total assists.
Defensively, the Lions hel their opponents to a paltry 38 percent shooting from the field (19-50) and 36.4 percent from beyond the arc.
Chris Rollins recorded nine rebounds followed by
Charles Botchway with four. As a team, the Lions forced 12 turnovers and recorded three steals.
