UAFS Men's Basketball team moves to 3-0 remaining undefeated as the Lions defeated Central Baptist Mustangs on Wednesday by the score of 72-70. Lions won the thriller with a late three pointer made by
Brian Halums and a free throw made by
Matthew Wilson.
Offensively, the Lions were once again led by Halums and Wilson who scored 25 points each.
Chris Rollins scored 11 points while
Charles Botchway added four. Rollins and Botchway also recorded two assists each. As a team, UAFS shot 42.6 percent from the field, 34.5 percent from the three point line and 83.3 percent from the free throw line.
Defensively, the Lions held the Mustangs to a 41.7 percent from the field. Lions also forced 15 turnovers from the opponent while also recording six steals and four blocks.
UAFS men's basketball team continue their season next week as the Lions face off with an old rival - Texas A&M International, at 7:30 on Thursday, November 21 at Stubblefield Center.
