Vanderpool batted .455 with two doubles, a home run and seven RBI during the Diamond Lions' season-opening, three-game sweep of the University of Central Oklahoma. 

Vanderpool, who played outfield during the first and third games of the series and designated hitter the second game, crushed a grand slam in the the third game -- his first of the season.

He was flawless in the field, recording a perfect fielding percentage with several clutch catches.
