Senior outside hitter Michelle Walker was named MVP of the Angelo State Kathleen Brasfield Invitational after leading the Lady Lions volleyball team to a 3-1 finish in the two-day event hosted by Angelo State University in San Angelo, Texas.

Walker, who is the reigning Heartland Conference Player of the Year, averaged 4.33 kills per set during last week’s five-match slate, including four matches in the invitational. She recorded double-digit kills in all four invitational matches, including a season-high 23 kills in the Lady Lions’ five-set win against No. 19 Angelo State.

Walker also compiled a 0.315 hitting percentage during the five-match slate and averaged almost one dig per set.
