Sophomore Jeremy Bates shot a sizzling 2-under-par 208 on Tuesday to lead the UAFS men's golf team to a seventh-place finish in Golf Glove Hub Invitational hosted by St. Edward's University at Onion Creek Club in Austin, Texas.

UAFS shot a 31-over 871 (288-292-291) during the two-day, three-round event, finishing 22 strokes behind winners Oklahoma Christian and Midwestern State, who each shot a 9-over 849 to lead the 16-team field that featured eight Heartland Conference teams.
Bates, a sophomore from Quitman, Texas, delivered his best performance as a Lion. He shot a 3-under 67 in the final round to move up five spots to fifth place after shooting 73 and 68 during the first rounds on Monday.
