Bob Huckelbury

Huckelbury begins his ninth season as tennis coach. The Van Buren, Ark., native graduated from the University of Arkansas with a bachelor's degree in architecture.
After practicing architecture for several years, he became a USPTA tennis professional I and began his teaching career as the tennis director at the Hyatt Regency Fiji.
While in the Fiji Islands, he coached the Fiji Junior National team and was the national singles champion. He left Fiji for a short stay in Europe and then moved back home where he has taught tennis since 1988.
Through his years teaching tennis, he has coached players of all levels as well as ranked juniors and college players. He was head coach of the Arkansas Area Training Center, Junior Zonal coach, local tournament director and was received the Arkansas Tennis Professional of the Year award.
Huckelbury has played on five district championship men's 5.0 teams, won three state singles titles, one state doubles title and numerous open singles and doubles tournaments.
He has guided the women's team to an 110-82 record and the men's team to a 76-102 record.
Huckelbury's wife, Lisa, is a speech language pathologist, and they have twins, a boy Griffin and girl Ayden.
