Mark Kincannon begins his third season as assistant coach.
Kincannon is a 1994 graduate of J.A. Fair High School in Little Rock, Ark., where he played baseball and earned All-Conference honors. He played two seasons at Westark College (now UAFS), where he was named to the NJCAA Region II All-Tournament Team, earned NJCAA Academic All-American honors and received the Wayne Layman Award.
He went on to play one season at the University of Indianapolis (1997) and one season at the University of Arkansas-Little Rock (1999), where he earned a bachelor’s of arts degree.
Prior to joining the UAFS staff, Kincannon was assistant baseball coach at Christian Academy of Louisville (Ky.) for one season (2002), head baseball coach and athletic director at Fort Smith Christian School (now Union Christian Academy) for three years (2003-05).
During his tenure at Fort Smith Christian, he guided the Eagles to the semifinals of the 2004 state tournament and was named to the AHSCA All-Star staff (2005) and Xtra-Innings All-Star Game staff (2005).
He was the head coach of the Fort Smith Forsgren American Legion team for three seasons (2004-06), guiding the team to the 2004 state championship. He was head of the Fort Smith Coke American Legion team for two seasons (2007-08), guiding the team to a third-place finish in the state tournament (2008).
Kincannon has been the head coach of the Fort Smith Kerwins American Legion team the past two seasons, leading the Sportsmen to a third-place finish in the state tournament (2011).
Kincannon, who also holds a master’s degree in theological studies from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, has been a member of the Community Bible Church pastoral staff since 2005 and currently serves as the executive pastor.
He and his wife Michelle have three children, Mason, Maddax and Mackenzie.
