FORT SMITH, Ark. - University of Arkansas - Fort Smith Women's Basketball will face its toughest test of the season this week as the Lions host Nebraska-Kearney and No. 8 Fort Hays State at the Stubblefield Center.

The Lions will face the Lopers at 5:30 p.m. Thursday followed by the Tigers at 1 p.m. Saturday. Both games will be streamed on the MIAA Network and broadcast on Fox Sports Radio 103.5. Live stats will be available at uafortsmithlions.com.

NOTES:

LAST WEEK: UAFS suffered a pair of road losses at Missouri Southern and No. 11 Pittsburg State.

SEASON LEADERS: Guard Telisha Brown leads the Lions with 12.4 points and 2.4 assists per game while forward Marie Rose Priscilla Wemba pulls down 6.1 rebounds per game.

RECORD WATCH: Forward Layne Kirkendoll is tied for sixth in the NCAA II era with 60 career blocks. Kirkendoll had a season-high four blocks at Pitt State and is seventh in the MIAA with 1.3 blocks per game.

SCOUTING UNK: The Lopers are 11-12, 4-8 MIAA after dropping their last three contests. UNK is just 1-6 away from home while featuring one of the top point guards in the league, as guard Jillian Aschoff averages 13.9 points, 6.7 rebounds and is second in the MIAA with 6.6 assists per game.

SCOUTING FHSU: The No. 8 Tigers are 19-2, 10- MIAA and lead the league in scoring at 76.8 points per game. The Tigers feature the league's leading scorer in forward Talexa Weeter at 28.1 points and 8.9 rebounds per game while guard Brooke Loewe leads the league with 10.2 assists per game.  

THE SERIES: UAFS is 0-1 versus both Nebraska-Kearney and Fort Hays State. This will be the first time both teams meet at the Stubblefield Center.
