FORT SMITH, Ark. – Guard Christian Moore posted his second straight double-double as he scored 10 points to go with 11 assists and seven rebounds to lead the Lions to an 83-59 win over Emporia State Friday.
Moore's 11 assists are the fifth most in a game in the NCAA II era.
After the Hornets scored the opening basket, the Lions went on a 21-0 run over the next six-plus minutes to blow the game open. UAFS grew the lead to as many as 25 before leading 43-20 at the half.
The Lions shot 48.6 percent in the opening 20 minutes and finished at 47.8 percent for the game.
UAFS held its largest lead at 71-36 midway through the second half after a 7-0 run and cruised to the victory.
Forward Kameron Johnson led the Lions with 14 points on 6-of-9 shooting while guards Kanaan Holder and Jarren McAllister each added 12 points. McAllister was 5-for-5 from the floor. Guard VJ Reeves led the Lions with eight rebounds.
The Lions dominated the points in the paint, 46-28 and had 25 points off turnovers and 21 fast break points.
