PITTSBURG, Kan. – University of Arkansas – Fort Smith Baseball wrapped up the 2025 season Saturday, falling 6-2 at Pittsburg State.
After three scoreless innings, the Lions jumped in front in the top of the fourth with three straight hits, scoring on an RBI double by infielder Noah Davis. Infielder Matt Schilling then scored on an RBI groundout by catcher Ryan Riggs.
The Gorillas then tied the game in the bottom half of the frame before taking the lead in the sixth off starter Brayden Ross. Pitt State then added three runs in the bottom of the seventh.
Ross finished with four runs allowed on five hits over 6.0 innings while striking out seven in his final career game.
Schilling and outfielder Sammy Seeger each led the Lions at the plate with two hits.
