FORT SMITH, Ark. - University of Arkansas - Fort Smith Baseball closed out the home portion of its 2025 schedule Wednesday with an 11-3 defeat to Rogers State at Crowder Field.
The Lions scored in the opening frame on an RBI single by designated hitter Dakota Peters but the Hillcats scored seven unanswered from the fourth through eighth innings.
UAFS got two runs back in the bottom of the eight on an RBI single by pinch hitter Reece Rozman followed by another RBI single by infielder Jordon Helm. However, the Hillcats added four insurance runs in the ninth.
Starter Brayden Ross kept Rogers State off the board until the fourth when RSU scored three times. Ross finished with 6.2 innings pitched, allowing four runs – two earned – on nine hits with three strikeouts.
Helm and infielder Noah Davis each led the Lions with two hits, but seven errors were costly for the Lions.
Next up for UAFS is a road series at Emporia State beginning Friday.
