FORT SMITH, Ark. - University of Arkansas - Fort Smith Women's Tennis nearly picked up its first win of the season Sunday, but dropped a 4-3 decision to Ouachita Baptist at The Hangout.
The Lions swept doubles action as they took a 1-0 lead to singles play. Arianna De Bernardo and Taylor Conway earned a 6-4 win at No. 1 while Isabella Serrano and Antonietta Bocache claimed a 6-2 win at No. 2. Sofia Tominaga and Gracie Pereff completed the sweep with a 6-4 win at No. 3.
In singles action, Tominaga claimed a 6-4, 7-5 win at No. 3 while Serrano picked up a 6-2, 6-3 decision at No. 5 for the two singles points.
The Lions continue their nonconference slate Monday when they travel to Little Rock to face Christian Brothers.
