Men's Basketball concludes season with defeat at Rogers State

CLAREMORE, Okla. - University of Arkansas - Fort Smith Men's Basketball saw its season come to a close Saturday with a 79-73 defeat to Rogers State at the Claremore Expo Center.

The Lions nearly erased a double-digit deficit in the second half, cutting the lead to three with a minute left after scoring six points in 15 seconds. However, the Hillcats went back up by two possessions at the free throw line and the Lions were unable to convert on the offensive end.

UAFS went back-and-forth with the Hillcats in the first 10 minutes of the game, but a 16-2 RSU run broke a 15-15 tie.

Guard Terrell Williams Jr. led the Lions with 24 points and six rebounds, with guards Elijah Wilson and Jarren McAllister joining him in double figures with 16 and 15 points, respectively. Williams was 8-for-12 from the field and 3-for-6 from beyond the arc.

The Lions finished with a 21-11 edge in fast break points, but Rogers had a 42-28 advantage in points in the paint.
