HAYS, Kan. – University of Arkansas – Fort Smith Women's Basketball was unable to slow down No. 8 Fort Hays State Saturday, falling to the Tigers, 82-62.
The Tigers jumped out to an 11-0 lead to start the game and led the Lions, 22-6, after the first quarter. UAFS then outscored Fort Hays in the second quarter, 26-25.
UAFS shot just 35.9 percent for the game while the Tigers shot 55.0 percent. Guards Anna Trusty and Morgan Browning each scored 15 points to lead the Lions.
The Lions return home next week to host Washburn at 5:30 p.m. Thursday.
