EDMOND, Okla. – Guard Morgan Browning tied her season-high with 22 points but University of Arkansas – Fort Smith Women's Basketball suffered an 83-55 setback at Central Oklahoma Thursday.
Browning scored the first five points of the game before the Bronchos went on a 10-2 run to take a 10-7 lead.
A pair of free throws by Browning made it 22-21 in favor of the Bronchos early in the second quarter, but the Bronchos answered with a 13-0 run. UAFS was unable to cut into the deficit as the game went on.
Browning was 6-for-10 from the floor, including 3-for-4 from beyond the arc and 7-for-12 from the line. Forward Sinetra Jones added 12 points for the Lions, while forward Layne Kirkendoll had a team-high seven rebounds.
UAFS finished the game shooting 35.0 percent while the Bronchos shot 50.0 percent.
The Lions close out the regular season Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at Rogers State.
