FORT SMITH, Ark. – University of Arkansas – Fort Smith Women's Basketball will wrap up the regular season this week as the Lions visit Central Oklahoma and Rogers State.
The Lions will travel to the Bronchos at 5:30 p.m. Thursday before taking on Rogers State at 1:30 p.m. Saturday. Both games will be streamed on the MIAA Network with live stats available at uafortsmithlions.com.
NOTES:
LAST WEEK: The Lions closed out their home slate with an 11-2 record after wins over Missouri Western and Northwest Missouri.
KPI: UAFS moved up to fifth in the latest MIAA KPI standings. The KPI standings will be used to seed next week's MIAA Tournament.
47: The 47 points allowed in the win over Northwest Missouri state were the fewest allowed by the Lions in a game this season.
AROUND THE LEAGUE: The Lions rank third in the MIAA in scoring at 74.3 points per game, third in rebounding at 40.5 and third in blocks at 4.2 per game.
RECORD WATCH: Forward Sinetra Jones ranks fifth with 74 career blocks. Guard Zyniah Thomas ranks seventh with 165 career assists.
SCOUTING UCO: The Bronchos are 7-19, 6-11 MIAA and have dropped three of their last four games. UCO averages just 62.6 points per game, led by forward Korie Allensworth at 13.0 points per game. Forward Jordyn Turner averages 11.2 points and is second in the league in rebounding at 9.4 per game.
SCOUTING RSU: The Hillcats are last in the MIAA at 7-19, 1-16 MIAA. RSU shoots the three at just 27.0 percent and are led in scoring by forward Ella Hafer at 12.7 points per game.
THE SERIES: UAFS is 4-9 all-time against Central Oklahoma and 11-3 versus Rogers State after defeating both teams at the Stubblefield Center earlier this season.
