Women's Basketball looks to bounce back at home

FORT SMITH, Ark. - University of Arkansas - Fort Smith Women's Basketball looks to bounce back at home this week as the Lions host Washburn and Central Missouri for Homecoming.

The Lions will face the Ichabods at 5:30 Thursday at the Stubblefield Center before taking on the Jennies at 1 p.m. Saturday. Both games will be streamed on the MIAA Network and broadcast on Fox Sports Radio 103.5. Live stats will be available at uafortsmithlions.com.

NOTES:

LAST WEEK: The Lions went on the road against two of the top teams in the MIAA, suffering a pair of defeats at Nebraska-Kearney and No. 8 Fort Hays State.

KPI: The MIAA released its first KPI standings for seeding in the conference tournament, with the Lions being ranked sixth.

BACK HOME AGAIN: UAFS will play its next four games in the Stubblefield Center, where the Lions have posted a 7-2 record this season.

DOUBLE-DOUBLE: Guard Anna Trusty has recorded a double-double in two of her last three games, scoring 20 points to go with 12 rebounds against Pittsburg State and then tallying 13 points and 12 boards at Nebraska-Kearney. She now has six double-doubles on the season.

CRASH THE GLASS: Forward Layne Kirkendoll has had 11 rebounds in three of her last five games.

RECORD WATCH: Forward Sinetra Jones ranks fifth with 67 career blocks.

SCOUTING WU: The Ichabods are 13-10, 7-6 MIAA after having won their last two games. Center Yiibari Nwidadah and guard Payton Sterk each rank in the top five in the MIAA in scoring at 16.2 points per game for a team that ranks fourth in the league at 73.6 points per game.

SCOUTING UCM: The Jennies are 13-11, 5-8 MIAA after dropping three of their last four games. Guard Reese Schaaf leads the MIAA in scoring and rebounding at 18.5 points and 9.8 rebounds per game. UCM leads the league in free throw percentage at 74.5 percent.

THE SERIES: The Lions are 1-2 all-time against Central Missouri while this will be the inaugural meeting with Washburn.
