EDMOND, Okla. – University of Arkansas – Fort Smith Volleyball fell to No. 7 Central Oklahoma for the second time this week, dropping a 25-18, 25-10, 25-23 decision on the road against the Bronchos.
The Lions hit .299, their highest mark in MIAA play, but allowed the Bronchos to hit .374.
UAFS led 14-8 in set three as the Lions looked to extend the match, but the Bronchos took an 18-16 lead after an 8-1 run. The Lions responded by scoring the next three points before the teams settled on a 22-22 tie. However, the Bronchos scored three of the final four points to close out the match.
Middle Crystal Smith led the Lions with 10 kills while hitting .409 while outside hitter Lydia Pitts added nine kills with a .421 attack percentage. Pitts tallied eight digs, as well.
Setter Scarlette Young dished out 24 assists and was the lone Lion with double figure digs with 12. Setter Trinity Funderburk had 11 assists.
UAFS continues league play Friday at 6 p.m. at Missouri Southern.
