FORT SMITH, Ark. - University of Arkansas - Fort Smith Volleyball suffered a 3-0 setback to No. 7 Central Oklahoma Wednesday, falling 25-20, 25-16, 25-12 to the Bronchos at the Stubblefield Center.
The Lions raced out to an 8-2 lead in set two as they looked to even the match, but the Bronchos closed the set on a 13-1 run and scored the final nine points of the set. UCO then ended the match with another 9-0 run in set three.
Defensively, outside hitter Lydia Pitts led the Lions with 16 digs while outside hitter Bree Pardy and setter Trinity Funderburk each had 14. Middle Jacia Hayes led the Lions with five blocks.
Pitts and Hayes led the Lions with seven and six kills, respectively. Setter Scarlette Young dished out 15 assists.
The two teams square off again Saturday at 1 p.m. in Edmond, Oklahoma.
